Mom, come rest
2023
The installation celebrates the hidden work of women, the efforts that often go unnoticed but which carry a big role in creating a feeling of safety and cherishing collective heritage. The fort is handsewn of various fabrics that I have collected from my mother and grandmothers. One side is made of handkerchiefs that I have decorated with embroidery, in the centre there is a handmade crib mobile and on the ground there are boxes, marbles and rocks collected by my grandmother. My aim is for people to feel protected and cared for while sitting in the fort.
